ATV NETWORK PROUD TO SUPPORT PROTOS PRODUCTIONS
Theatre and Arts in London

Since 1980 the Protos Productions theatre group has been staging art workshops, theatre skill training and local productions in the North London area.

ATV is just one of many companies to have supported the community work of the Protos Theatre and Arts ventures. Other such contributors previously have included the BBC and many local newspapers in the London region.

Protos welcome local talent interested in performance to join the production team and learn new skills, which have helped many former members go on to higher education in arts, media and acting. Protos covers all aspects of theatre work. From stage management and choreographers to make-up and costume. The group hosts two public performances a year, the highlight being the pantomime at the Intimate Theatre in Palmers Green.

The beginnings of Protos start in 1979 when plans were made to launch a new community based theatre group in North London. The inaugural meeting was held in January 1980.

The first ever production was held at The Intimate Theatre, which had previously been home to many live televised dramas in the 1940s and 50s. The production was "Smike", a pop musical based on Charles Dickens Novel, Nicholas Nickelby with the production running in the November of 1980. Since then over over 40 theatre productions have been produced.
