REMEMBERING ROGER, An ATV NETWORK MIDLANDS PRODUCTION
Episode Length TBA, Online Presentation

In order to correct a deliberately misleading documentary, which BBC Two aired in 2010, concerning Roger Tonge and his character of Sandy Richardson in Crossroads -  ATV decided to set the record straight about the character and more so the legacy Sandy has left behind with the Crossroads Care respite charity.

Are You Having A Laugh, TV and Disability was, as critics and viewers alike noted, pretty disgraceful when it came to the character of Sandy Richardson as well as being inaccurate with a number of other 'facts' presented as truth. The BBC ignored the many complaints to their Points of View programme and therefore we have decided this short documentary will for the fans and especially for the charity put right the inaccurate BBC broadcast.

2011 is also the 30th anniversary of Roger Tonge's death from cancer aged just 35 so is a perfect time to celebrate the legacy left behind.

Main Interviews: Jane Rossington, Susan Hanson, Tony Adams and Lynette McMorrough. Executive Producer, Maria Brabiner.

RETURN TO CROSSROADS, An ATV NETWORK MIDLANDS PRODUCTION
X2 Hour Episodes. Online/DVD Presentation

ATV Network is proud to 'Return To Crossroads' with a look at the award winning serial which debuted on ITV back in 1964 and was soon climbing up the television ratings. Crossroads was ITV's first full-length daily serial based on the American format, which at that time hadn't been tried in the UK.

Original producer Reg Watson changed the American hour-long five days a-week format into a 25-minute five episode-a-week saga which soon became popular with millions of viewers not only in Britain, but across the globe too. The format proved a winner and continues to be used on Reg Watson's other hit-series Neighbours as well as rival Home and Away.

Crossroads was a ground-breaker, possibly ahead of its time - leading the way and doing forty years ago what today's "soaps" consider new and pioneering. The boundary breaking however didn't sit well with critics, but the words of a few mattered little to the up to 18 million fans of the show. Return to Crossroads looks at the on-screen and off-screen events that shaped the show as well as the highs and lows which formed part of the series which ran for almost 25 years on ITV.

Return To Crossroads Key Stars: Narrator Glen Allen (UK Gold, Five), main Interviews with Crossroads crew: Jane Rossington (Emergency Ward 10, The Archers), Tony Adams (General Hospital, Doctors), Susan Hanson (Holby City, Footlights Review), Janet Hargreaves (Compact, The Avengers), Stan Stennett (Doctors, Coronation Street), Lynette McMorrough (Sweet Medicine, Grass), Angela Webb (Jackanory), Christopher Douglas (Blakes 7, Secret Army), Jean Bayliss (The Good Old Days, Lady In The Fog), Alan Coleman (Director, Home and Away, Neighbours), Bill Buckley (That's Life, BBC News Channel), Barbara Rudge (Crossroads Care West Birmingham). Executive Producer, Doug Lambert.

NEWSWRAP
Episode Length 6 Minutes x8 editions and x4 specials.

Eight editions of Newswrap were made for ATV Today news site in late 2010 as a trial run. They proved successful with the audience and another series has been commissioned for 2011 to 'round-up' the top television and soap news of the year. Four specials featuring interviews with celebrities have also been produced. Interviewees included ITV sports host Jim Rosenthal, singer Annie Khalid and actors from Neighbours and Hollyoaks.

Newswrap covered, in its original form, news from television and soap from the past seven days with 'witty comments'. The reports contained photographs, specially filmed sequences and television broadcast recordings of programmes mixed together in a news report format. Usually four or five stories were contained in each edition.

QUEENIE AND VIVIAN
Episode Length 10 minutes, three series, 12 episodes

Queenie and Vivian started off as 'spoof agony aunts' for the ATV Today website - a tool to bluntly tell complainers where to go. Providing reasonably popular with many readers - and equally as unpopular - ATV Today decided to move the pair to vision.

The first series contained three episodes of Queenie answering reader questions. The second series of four episodes followed the same format, although two editions were without sidekick Vivian, who with the trickery of blue-screen was sent off on a ferry. The third series of five episodes is yet to air and is currently in production. The new episodes of Queenie and Vivian move away from the agony aunt role and have been made as a scripted sequence of comedy. Will air on ATV Today's 'ATV One' channel which is transmitted on the website.

Some TV studios become iconic, others produce many memorable television programmes but remain mostly unknown to the public. In the Midlands Pebble Mill, home of the BBC for 30 years is the regions' most famous production centre, but there were others. Programmes like Tiswas came from the Paradise Centre of ATV in the Midlands while ATV Elstree was home to some of the biggest shows of ITV in the sixties and seventies including lavish dramas such as Edward VIII and Clayhanger. Those London facilities continue to be famous in fan circles thanks to now being the home of EastEnders and Holby City with BBC Productions.

ATV also in its early years, and for much longer in the ill-funded, Midlands region, operated television production from former theatres. Most unknown today, but thanks to Crossroads the Alpha Television Centre in Aston Cross is a name known to fans of the soap. In three short programmes ATV looks back at the studios, not the programmes, that housed some of ITV's most fondly remembered programming.

Episode One: ATV Aston Cross, Episode Two: ATV Elstree/BBC Elstree and Episode Three: ATV Paradise Centre/Alpha Tower.
